Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Kelly Johnstone and I am a research information co-ordinator for the MND Association. This year, I will be writing a blog to keep you up-to-date with the highlights from the symposium which will run from 8-10 December 2009.

The symposium is now just over a month away and we are in the final stages of ensuring that everything is prepared and ready to be sent to Berlin ahead of our arrival. Everything that we will need for the conference, from an enormous volume of Velcro to secure posters to boards to the 800 delegate packs, will need to be couriered to Berlin. After spending so much time ensuring that everything is 'just right' this process for us closely resembles the feeling of waving your luggage off at the airport. It's not until that magical moment when you see your luggage again can your worries of 'have I forgotten to pack something?' be relaxed. Once in Berlin all hands will be on deck to get everything into place on time. But for now, all is relatively calm at the MND Association.

Undoubtedly, I am excited about attending and reporting on this year's symposium. Not only because a lot has happened in the world of MND research in the past year, but also because this is the first time that we (and in fact I) will have written a blog for the symposium.

I sincerely hope that you will enjoy reading my blog!

Saludos, Araceli
